We all know that Orange and the local area is the showcase of fine wine, good food and unequalled hospitality.

But did you know we have the suspicion that amongst our beautiful landscape is one of the largest girthed yellow box in NSW. A circumference of 10.4m at the base and 7.8m at chest height.

It was identified by Mick Harvey, a recognised expert in  Australian Native Flora, and is estimated to be 400 years old.

Located on the edge of the Canobolas Forest this Eucalyptus Melliodora – or Yellow Box to us lay people.

To celebrate nature we are holding a competition. There are two categories you can enter.
