Canowindra’s unique curved main street is ideal to meander along the once bullock track to find interesting boutiques, galleries and local produce. It makes a perfect daytrip when staying in Orange.

Take a tour of the Age of Fishes Museum where you can get up close to the 360 million year old fossils discovered by chance in 1956.  The best of the discovered fossils are on display right in Canowindra. Even David Attenborough made his was to see this fascinating facility.

Canowindra is also a mecca for hot air ballooning. Book your morning flight to experience quiet flight over beautiful landscape. You can’t miss floating gently of the expanse of yellow canola.

Whilst you have surprisingly extensive options for a meal, you can also take it back to basics and picnic by the Belubula River
